St. James Parish Schools Approved One-Time Supplemental Pay
St. James Parish School System recognizes the pivotal role that educators play in shaping the minds of the future. In a bold move to invest in the ongoing growth and efficiency of its staff, the SJP School Board has approved a one-time stipend for employee professional development.
In collaboration with Shell Inc., St. James Parish School District full-time employees will receive a one-time payment of $600 pending completion of online professional development.
“This will allow our employees to complete the necessary professional development and allow us to pay them a stipend for their hard work and dedication to our school system”, said Chris Kimball, Superintendent of Schools. “Every year, our employees are asked to do more regarding state-mandated professional development. These unfunded mandates continue to make attracting and retaining teachers and staff challenging. Our continued partnership with Shell Covent is a perfect example of a high-impact partnership in line with Priority 5 of our Strategic Plan. Thanks again to our board members and Shell Convent for meeting the needs of our full-time employees.”
