Federal Programs

St. James Parish receives federal monies through the Louisiana Department of Education.

Title I monies are allocated to all schools in St. James Parish. Monies are allocated to schools based on poverty levels reported by free and reduced lunch percentages. These monies are used at each individual school site to best meet the educational needs of the academically at risk students.

Title II monies are used to provide professional development for all teachers, paraprofessionals and administrators. Theses monies focus on improving the teaching and learning in every classroom.

  • two or more families living together in crowded or undesirable living conditions, (doubling/tripling-up) because they have no place of their own to live where they can safely and healthfully meet their basic needs in privacy and with dignity.
